Que d'eau...

For my first week end away I chose Las Cataratas de Iguazu in the North East of the Country, at the border with Brazil y Paraguay. The trip didn't start very well, I had to get up at 4,am then there was a delay with the flight due to a huge storm over Iguazu, and due to the storm, there was no electricity and water in my cabana. But after a couple of hours everything went back to normal, the room was clean and the light and AC were working. I could then think of planning the rest of the week end.

La destination choisie pour mon premier week end en vadrouille était donc les Chutes d'Iguazu dans le Nord-Est du pays, à la frontière avec le Brésil et le Paraguay. Le voyage n'a pas commencé sous les meilleures auspices. Je devais me lever à 4am, ensuite il y a eu un retard avec l'avion à cause d'une grosse tempête sur Iguazu et pour finir pas d'électricité et de l'eau dans ma chambre d'hôtel. Mais après 2 heures tout était revenu normal, la chambre était propre, la lumière et l'AC fonctionnaient. Je pouvais enfin penser au reste du week end.

Sunday: Iguazu National Park (Argentinian Side)

- Garganta del Diablo (in the morning because the level of the river was too high in the afternoon)

- Camino Inferior

- Camino Superior

Amazing views and really impressive falls. Didn't enjoy the Garganta that day because way too much people on the deck (200 or 300 people) I would advise not to go to the park on week end. The rest was better and the weather improved as well.

Dimanche: Parc National d'Iguazu (Côté argentin)

- La Gorge du Diable (Le matin car la passerelle était fermèe l'après midi à cause du niveau de l'eau)

- Chemin Infèrieur

- Chemin Supèrieur

Monday: La Aripuca (means "Trap" in Guarani language)

and Garganta del Diablo (with less people and sunnier)

Hito (three frontiers) Location where you can see Brasil and Paraguay.

La Aripuca is not "a must see" but if you have time (30 mn) to kill you can go there. Then went back to Garganta and with only 20 persons and the sun it was better than the day before. I really enjoyed it and stayed on the deck for half an hour contemplating the strenght of the fall. On my way back i was lucky enough to see a Toucan - definitely the best day of the trip.
I finished the day at the Hito and waited there for the sunset. Nothing special but it's in town so it's not a waste of time to go there.

Lundi: La Aripuca (Signifie "Piège" en Guarani)

La Aripuca n'est pas vraiment un highlight mais si vous avez du temps (30 mn) vous pouvez y aller. Ensuite retour à la gorge du Diable avec seulement 20 personnes et le soleil. C'était vraiment mieux que la veille. Du coup je suis resté sur la terrasse une demei heure a admirer les chutes. Sur le chemin du retour j'ai eu la chance d'apercevoir un toucan - Meilleure journée du voyage.
J'ai fini ma journée au Hito et attendu que le soleil se couche. Rien de spécial mais c'est en ville donc ce n'est pas une perte de temps.

Tuesday: Iguazu National Park (Brasilian Side)

Flight home.

I did that with a tour because i didn't want to bother with bus changes and all - If i had to do it again i would try do it on my own. The reason i chose the tour as well was to know when i would get back to catch my plane. The chick told me 1.30pm when i booked. at 3.15 we where still between Brasil and Argentina and they to stay there for 45 mn to go to a Duty Free Shop. It was lucky that it was really close from the town. I decided then tocross the border and walk back to the hotel on my own. So another advice if you can visit something on your own. Do it - it's costing less money and i guess the added value of the is not that great. The parc was cool though as we could see all the falls from a certain distance.
Flight home without ptoblem. I was tired because i forget to say that there was problem with my phone in the morning. It caught the brasilian signal and automatically changed the time and so i got up at 5 instead of 6. Like i said i was tired and had to prepare my english class for the next morning. So didn't get the chance to sleep much.

Vol de Retour

J'ai fait ca avec un tour organisé car je ne voulais pas m'ennuyer avec changement de bus et autres - Si c'était à refaire je le referais tout seul. Une des raison de mon choix était que je devais avoir un horaire fixe de retour pour prendre mon avion en fin d'après midi. La nana m'avait dit que le tour serait de retour pour 1.30pm. A 3.15 nous étions encore au poste frontière argentin et ils prevoyaient de rester là pour 45 mn pour profiter du Duty Free. Heureusemnt le centre ville était proche de la frontière, je décidai donc de traverser la frontière à pied et rentrer à l'hôtel tout seul. Donc autre conseil éviter les tours organisés si vous le pouvez - pas de valeur ajoutée et en plus pas capable de tenir les horaires. Le parc était quand même sympa étant donné que l'on peut voir toutes les chutes avec du recul.
Vol sans problème, un peu fatigué car j'ai eu un problème de téléphone le matin - il s'est mis dur le réseau brésilien et à changer d'heure automatiquement une heure en avance je me suis donc réveiller à 5h au lieu de 6h. Donc j'étais fatigué et je devais encore préparer ma classe d'anglais du lendemain. donc je n'ai pas pu dormir beaucoup.

I Had a great time and already looking forward to the next trip. Should be "La Valle de la Luna" (The valley of the Moon).

J'ai Vraiment bien apprécié Iguazu et j'ai déjà hâte à mon prochain week end d'évasion. Ce devrait être "La vallée de la Luna" (pas besoin de traduire)
